Ladle Safety Layer Castable Introduction:
Ladle safety layer castable has applicated between ladle insulation layer and lining layer.

According to the use characteristics of the thickness of the ladle working lining, the permanent layer thickness required to be designed is moderate. The castable is fully stirred in the mixer, and the amount of water added must be strictly controlled. Ladle is a vessel that directly holds molten steel between steelmaking and continuous casting, and is an important external refining equipment in steel smelting.


The change of molten steel temperature in the integrally cast ladle is closely related to the technological progress of the lining castable. The improvement of the ladle safety layer castable is an important way to improve the thermal insulation effect of the integral casted ladle. In order to improve the stability of the ladle safety layer castable, Changxing Refractory has optimized the castable for permanent lining. First, add low-magnesium swelling agent to the matrix, and then adjust the limit particle size of the castable aggregate.

Ladle permanent layer plays a vital role in preventing the leakage of molten steel and maintaining the safe operation of the ladle. The life span is related to the quality of this layer. This layer is generally built with clay and high-alumina bricks, usually in a comprehensive way.
