EAF Magnesia Carbon Brick Introduction:

EAF magnesia carbon brick refers to a refractory product made of magnesia and graphite as raw materials for electric furnace lining. EAF magnesia carbon brick has high fire resistance, high corrosion resistance, excellent heat-resistant peeling property, high-temperature volume stability, and high thermal shock resistance. According to the smelting conditions and the smelting steel grade, different quality magnesia carbon bricks can be provided.

The main factors that determine the quality of magnesium carbon bricks used in EAF include the purity of magnesite from MgO source, the kinds of impurities, the grain binding state of magnesite and the grain size. EAF walls are almost entirely built with magnesia carbon bricks. Therefore, the service life of magnesia carbon bricks determines the service life of EAF. The main factors that determine the quality of magnesia carbon bricks for EAF include the purity of MgO source magnesia, impurity types, and periclase grain bonding state and grain size; The purity, crystallinity and scale size of flake graphite as the source of carbon introduction; Phenolic resin is usually used as the binder, and the main influencing factors are the addition amount and the amount of residual carbon.

EAF Magnesia Carbon Brick Advantages:
high erosion resistance, excellent heat-resistant spalling and high temperature stability.

The basic requirements of electric furnace for magnesia carbon brick are:

(1) The thermal conductivity is low to ensure less heat loss and improve the thermal efficiency of the electric furnace;

(2) High thermal chemical and thermal physical corrosion resistance coefficient, which requires good volume stability;

(3) Slag resistance, peeling resistance, oxidation resistance and high compressive strength, so as to obtain low consumption and long life.
